Technical Services

The Southeast New England Network provides technical services, tools and trainings to facilitate better stormwater and watershed management, ecological restoration and climate resilience work for municipalities, tribes and other organizations. Technical services are offered in various ways through Network members, community liaisons in both Rhode Island and Massachsuetts, and through a regularly scheduled call for participants that matches applicants with technical service needs. Examples of technical services available to communities or tribes include the following:

  • Best management practices for land use stormwater treatment
  • Stormwater retrofit guidance (e.g., wet ponds, swales, permeable pavement, bioretention)
  • Mapping and analysis of drainage basins and pollutant loading
  • Model ordinance language for low impact development and sustainable water management
  • Water quality monitoring and modeling for optimal stormwater infrastructure management
  • Watershed and climate resilience scale capacity building and planning
