Description:
Municipalities throughout the SNEP Region will soon have access to more information about where stormwater runoff is generated within their boundaries and watersheds. Previous webinars have described how hydrologic response units (HRUs) combine various land characteristics (e.g. land use, land cover, soil type, slope) to estimate an area’s potential for runoff and pollutant loading; and how a SNEP Region-wide HRU dataset is being developed. In this webinar, Cape Cod Commission staff will highlight a number of case studies that illustrate how HRU data on Cape Cod was leveraged using ArcGIS to incorporate stormwater into regional planning around freshwater ponds, the transportation network, and within town zoning; and how those analyses were incorporated into the Cape Cod Commission’s online Stormwater Impacts tool.
Speakers:
Tim Pasakarnis – Water Resources Analyst, Cape Cod Commission
Tara Lewis – Water Resources Analyst, Cape Cod Commission
